Dr. Jason Knight, Associate Professor of Urban and Regional Planning, has been awarded two contracts to provide housing research and policy recommendations to local governments and nonprofit organizations. The first, for $20,050, under a New York State Zombie and Vacant Property Grant from the NYS Attorney General’s Office, is to support the City of Tonawanda in its effort to tackle vacant and abandoned properties. The second, for $21,375 and funded by Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) and Partnership for the Public Good (PPG), is to complete a housing needs assessment and market analysis for Erie and Niagara counties with Dr. Russell Weaver of Cornell ILR. Dr. Knight is a lecturer in the MPA program where he teaches courses in housing and community development.
