Celebrated the first week in May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees. The American Soceity for Public Administration (APSA) includes nonprofit employees in PSRW because of the importance of public-nonprofit partnerships in the design and delivery of public services. Throughout the nation and the world, public servants use this occasion to educate others about the work they do and why they hav chosen public service careers, as well as the many ways government services make life better for all of us.
Here in Buffalo, SUNY Buffalo State's Department of Political Science and Public Administration and the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration co-sponsor a day-long conference each April to commemorate PSRW.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we canceled the PSRW 2020 conference, but have made available our most recent program from 2019.
We will post information about the 2021 conference on social media and feature it on this website's homepage.
